South Atlanta Class of 2024 Boys Prospects Part 1

Name: Joah Chappelle

Height & Position: 6’8, Small Forward 

High School: Dutchtown High School

Summary:  This 6’8 small forward has towering height, agility, and versatility.  He is a force to be reckoned with on the court.  His height gives him significant advantage, allowing him to dominate the boards and be a formidable presence in the paint.  His long arms enable him to block shots, disrupt passing lanes, and snatch rebounds with ease.  It’s not just his height that sets him apart, Joah possesses an impressive skill set that makes him a threat from anywhere on the court.  As a small forward, Joah has the ability to score from all areas of the floor.

Name: Matthew Hinton

Height & Position: 6’9, Power Forward

High School: Dutchtown High School

Summary:  This 6’9 forward is an absolute force to be reckoned with on the basketball court.  With his towering height, he possesses a significant advantage when it comes to grabbing rebounds and contesting shots in the paint.  His athleticism allows him to move swiftly across the court and finish plays above the rim.  Offensively, this power forward has a diverse skill set.  He can dominate in the low post with his strong post moves, utilizing his size and strength to overpower opponents.  Defensively, his height and wingspan makes him a formidable shot blocker and rim protector.

Height & Position: 6’1, Point Guard

High School: Tri Cities High School

Summary:  This 6’1 Point Guard brings a unique set of skills and attributes to the game.  Despite being undersized compared to other positions, this player compensates with exceptional quickness and agility.  The smaller stature allows him to navigate through tight spaces and create opportunities for himself and teammates.  With excellent court vision and high basketball IQ, Malique excels in distributing the ball and setting up plays.  His passing ability is top-notch and exceptional ball handling allows him to penetrate the defense, create his own shot or drive to the basket and finish with finesse.  He has a keen understanding of when when to shoot, pass, or drive, making him a offensive triple threat.  He has the confidence to take and make big shots and never afraid to take the game winning shot.

Name: Arnesto Almonte

Height & Position: 6’7, Power Forward 

High School: Trinity Christian School

Summary:  This 6’7 power forward has a combination of height, strength, and athleticism, and has the ability to dominate inside the paint.  Offensively, he has a variety of weapons at his disposal.  He can utilize his size advantage to score in the low post, overpowering smaller defenders with his strength and finishing at the rim with authority.  Defensively, he guards multiple positions and has the strength to hold his ground in the paint and contest shots with a lateral quickness to stay in front of his man in the perimeter.  He’s an excellent rebounder that snatches rebounds off the glass and starts fast breaks for his team.  With his leadership, he is a valuable asset to his team and plays a pivotal role.

Height & Position: 6’8, Hybrid Forward

High School: Riverdale High School

Summary:  This 6’8 hybrid forward is a versatile player that possesses a combination of qualities from both the forward and guard positions.  His size and athleticism allows him to excel in multiple areas of the game, making him an all-around teammate.  Offensively, he can utilize his height to score in the post against small defenders.  He has the ability to finish strong at the rim with powerful dunks and layups.  His agility and skillset enable him to stretch the floor and shoot from mid-range and beyond the arc.  Masiah can use his length and quickness to guard multiple positions effectively.  He has the ability to switch onto guards and stay in front of them, using his size to block shots and disrupt passing lanes.  He is a rebounder that secures crucial boards and ignite fast breaks for his team.  He makes smart decisions on the court with his leadership skills.  He can score, defend, rebound, create plays, and lead.  He plays a pivotal role in his team’s success and contributes to their overall effectiveness.

High School: Sandy Creek High School

Summary:  This 6’3 Point Guard brings a unique blend of size, skill, and intelligence to the game.  With his ability to score, facilitate, defend, and lead, he plays a crucial role in his team’s success.  He is a versatile and dynamic player on the basketball court.  With his height advantage, he possess the ability to see over defenders and make accurate passes to set up their teammates for easy scoring opportunities.  Amari is a bucket that understands the game,, he can shoot over defenders with ease and knock down shots from various areas of the court.  Whether it is a smooth mid-range jumper, a consistent 3-point shot, or attacking the rim with explosiveness, this player has a well-rounded offensive game.
