EYA Hoops Report Showcase Part 2

EYA Hoops Report Showcase

Jonesboro High School

At EYA we are all about the enhancement and exposure of every student athlete that comes through our doors.

With this being my first showcase as a member of EYA, I was totally surprised by the number of players that showed up to Jonesboro High School. The gym was full of college prospects. Here are a few of the underclassmen standouts that coaches should know about.

Carlos Head

National Scout

Ernesto Almonte/6’5/ Trinity Christian High

A big wing that can do it all on the court. He can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket and also pull up for nice midrange shots. With his size, he can guard any-size player & adjust to different match-ups. Ernesto is a tenacious rebounder. Class of 2024 player with plenty of upside.

Joah Chappelle/6’5/ Dutchtown High

A long player that can fill it up on all 3 levels. His help-side defensive play helps to protect the rim very well to block shots. He also handled the ball well and got to the basket with ease. Great attitude and very coachable. Class of 2024 kid that should make a lot of noise in his next two seasons of play.

AJ Horton/6’4/ Jonesboro High

This young man can play and you can tell he loves the game of basketball by the way he trains and plays. He is a guard that can get to the paint at will and can get his shots off. He has a variety of floaters and midrange pull ups. AJ can also bomb away from 3. Defensively, he can guard the 1 through 3. This Class of 2024 guard that should be on everyone’s radar by the time he’s finished.

Alex Pissis/6’6/ Trinity Christian High

This young man is incredible. He showed super athleticism driving to the rim at ease and finishing. He can get his shot off when he wants to and has the ability to make midrange and 3 point shots. He showed a deep understanding of the game at a young age. This class of 2025 guard will be one of the best in the country in the upcoming years.

Matthew Hinton/6’7/ Dutchtown High

He is a big guy that is not afraid of being big. He has good hands and can finish around the basket. On defense, he was a rim protector and got every rebound that came off. With his size and him constantly getting better, he will be a monster by the time 2024 gets here. Keep him on the radar.

Emanuel Wisdom/5’10/ Cristo Rey High

This little guard was a blur. He has to be one of the fastest guards in the state right now. He has handles and doesn’t let his size stop him from getting and hitting whatever shot he wants. He one a pesty on the ball defender and can make it a nightmare for any PG dribbling in front of him. The future is bright for this class of 26 PG.

CJ Harper/6’2/ Paideia High

One word smooth. This young man can do everything on the court offensively. He can get to the lane and finish with floaters and pull ups. He can also stretch the floor while shooting bombs from anywhere in the gym. You can tell he works on his game relentlessly because he gets better everytime i see him. With him being in the class of 26 the state will have to deal with his growth.

Nathadeus Fambro/6’8/ McDonough High

Quiet young man that just goes out there and plays hard. He got in there and battled for rebounds. He blocked shots. He also finished around the basket with either hand. Class of 25 young man that should be a force in the paint by the time he is done.

Nedum Ike/6’3/ Sandy Creek High

A long guard that showed the ability to get to the basket and finish over defenders. He is one of those players that you don’t have to run anything for and he will fill up a stat sheet anyway. Him being a class of 24 kid he has a high ceiling.

Malique Johnson/6’0/ Tri Cities High

A tough guard that quietly goes about his job on the court. He is a smart player that always seem to make the right cut or be in the right position to make plays. He can effectively score from midrange and went strong to the basket and finished. This class of 24 guard should make alot of noise these next 2 years

Jason Isaac Jr/ 6’4 / Jonesboro High

A complete player is the first thing that comes to mind when you see Isaac play. Defends multiple positions on the floor, Scores the ball on all three levels, tough rebounder on defensive an offensive boards, creates plays off the dribble not just for himself, PHYSICAL, an he’s extremely vocal as a leader. With a college ready body easily puts him on the radar in the class of 2024.
