GBCA Live Period Standouts Part 2

In June, basketball players worldwide come together to compete in many locations. Athletes have the opportunity to play in front of collegiate coaches to showcase their talent, grit, and athleticism. Chances like these give athletes the privilege to compete for a roster spot at the next level and also continue their education. The live period in the great state of Georgia showcased tons of admirable talent with several teams from the South Atlanta & Metropolitan area in attendance. Below you will be introduced to a special selected group of standout players that proved their capabilities and potential during the June High School live period.

 

 Dekel Hobbs (2023) 6’4 – Cross Creek High School,  Athletic rebounder that utilizes his length to crash the boards & plays good on-ball defense. He is encouraged to initiate the break off of rebounds and makes great IQ decisions. 

John Mcqueen Jr. (2024) 6’4- Langston Hughes High School, Athletic build with a long wingspan. He handled the ball well and nailed the 3-point perimeter shot efficiently

Jaron Lemelle (2025) 6’6 – Langston Hughes High School, Young athletic post that has a huge potential. Rebounded the ball, competed, and played quality minutes.

Ashton Brown (2023) 6’3- Whitewater High School, He’s a versatile guard that is great at slashing to the basket. He has a midrange jump shot and is a beast in the passing lanes on defense. He finishes above the rim on the break. He plays with a lot of emotion and heart.

Kenneth Brayboy (2023) 6’6 – Eagles Landing High School, Long and athletic kid who protects the rim well and blocked shots. He snatches the ball off the glass, making him a prolific rebounder.

Austin Fortune (2023) 6’7 – Dutchtown High School, A very strong inside player. Rebounds very well, using promising athletic stature.

Adrian Avery (2023) 6’4 – Dutchtown High School, Makes nice moves to the basket, but can also create off the dribble. High-IQ for the game, playing both poised and under control.

Cassidy Golden (2023) 6’10-  Columbia High School, Utilizes length to protect the basket, block shots, and gather rebounds. Despite thin frame, he was a force to be reckoned with defensively. 

Trevian Callaway (2024) 5’11- Columbia High School, Small in stature but competed on both sides of the ball. Great asset to his team, shooting the 3-ball perimeter shot extremely well. 

Jadan Baugh (2024) 6’0- Columbia High School, Strong guard with a promising muscular stature. Athletic build helps him to move efficiently on the court to score the basketball and defend. 

Jamarcus Hatcher (2024) 6’3- Columbia High School, Solid finisher around the basket and capitalizes on the break. Makes shots consistently making im a needed impact players scoring.

Terrell Wright (2023) 6’9- Columbia High School, Long rim protector. Worked cohesively to grab rebounds, dribble, and run lanes for scoring on the rim-line making him a instant college prospect.
